How Bel makes money, before you ask
Subscriptions. People pay $6 or $12 a month, and that is the entire business model. There is no advertising, no data brokerage, no investor thesis that needs your conversations. This matters more than any policy wording, so it goes first.
In plain language
The position
We do not train on your conversations
Your chats are not used to train models — not ours, not anyone else's. They exist to serve you, and that is all they do.
We do not sell or share your data
No advertisers, no data brokers, no "trusted partners". The only third parties that touch anything are the ones needed to run the service, listed below.
Delete everything at any time
One control in settings deletes your account and everything attached to it. It is removed from our systems within 30 days, including backups.
Export whenever you like
Your conversations and data are yours. Export them at any time from settings, in a format you can actually read, no ticket required.
If any sentence on this page stops being true, the sentence gets removed — not softened.
Where things live
Processing, storage, subprocessors
Your account data and conversations are stored and processed on servers in the European Union. Backups live in the same jurisdiction.
Subprocessors — the short list of services needed to run Bel:
- Marven — hosting provider; stores the website, account data and consent records
- Marven — server mail; sends verification and contact email
This list will name names, with links to each provider's own policy, before Bel opens to the public. If it ever grows, the change is announced here.
The formal version
Privacy policy
1. Who we are
Bel is operated by Josh Mattews, 201 E Beale St, Kingman, AZ 86401, USA ("we"). You can reach us at support@asistbel.com for any privacy question, request or complaint.
2. What we collect
- Account data: your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Conversations: the messages you exchange with Bel, stored so the service works and your history persists.
- Consent records: when you tick a box, we keep a record of the time, the wording version and the form it appeared on, as the law requires.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) kept for security and abuse prevention.
3. What we never do
- Train AI models on your conversations
- Sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes
- Show advertising or use advertising trackers
4. Legal bases and retention
We process account and conversation data to provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract). Consent records are kept to demonstrate compliance (legal obligation). Marketing email is sent only with your explicit, separate consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct, export and delete your data at any time — mostly directly in settings, otherwise by emailing us. Deletion removes everything within 30 days, including from backups. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Security
Passwords are stored hashed. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to the people who operate the service. If a breach ever affects your data, we tell you directly and promptly.
7. Changes
Changes to this policy are posted on this page with a new version number and date. Anything that weakens a protection above is announced by email before it takes effect.
